Tonight, the political heart of the Chiss Ascendancy beats with new resolve. In a landmark address delivered out front of Convocate Hall, citizens, fleet officers, and representatives of the major Houses have gathered to hear Grand Syndic Cong’liddo Nollaig announce the Chiss Ascendancy’s formal accession to the Imperial Union as a Provisional Member.
The speech, streameing live to you from Nuz Bazan, comes after months of collaboration between Imperial Union diplomats and Ascendancy officials. Here now, in its entirety, is the official address:
To all citizens of the Ascendancy, House Aristocra, warriors of the Expansionary Defense Fleet, workers of the Chiss Defense Force, and Chiss diaspora speckled across the galaxy.
Today marks not merely a diplomatic milestone, but a reaffirmation of who we are.
For too long, we endured the meddling of hostile aliens from Lesser Space. The so-called rebels are sophisticated bandits leading alien led terrorist groups built from remnants of the New Republic. These aliens who colonized our lands, stole our wealth, have no moral cause beyond causing strife across the galaxy. Their continued existence is an existential threat to our survival.
The occupation they imposed upon us brought disorder cloaked in bureaucracy, oppression dressed as inclusion. They sought to dilute our traditions, to scatter our unity into the winds. We are scarred, yes, but have risen unbroken.
They misunderstood us.
The Empire did not.
Where others saw an obstacle, the Galactic Empire recognised potential. They approached us not to occupy our home, but treated us as a people ready to rise. They made no demands for us to change who we are. Instead, they extended respect—earned, not given—and protection that is mutual.
Today, I announce to the citizens of the Ascendancy that another step has been taken in our resurrection. Our alignment to the Imperial Union as Provisional members was passed unanimously by its Executive Council.
The Imperial Union is not a chain, but a shield. A shield forged for mutual defence—against pirates, raiders, chaos cults, and the ever-present threat of galactic instability fermented by alien terrorists.
The Chiss Ascendancy joins the Imperial Union not as a subordinate state, but as a sovereign pillar within the greatest alliance the galaxy has ever seen.
We do not enter this pact as servants, nor as supplicants. We enter as partners.
Lets be clear. The governments of the Imperial Union have already been powerful friends of the Chiss people during our rise, and we affirm our commitment to grow that relationship.
Our warriors have stood shoulder to shoulder with Stormtroopers on Gekto III. Black Sun has been an economic ally, and the first government to dispatch vendors to Csilla to help our economic growth. Tresario Star Kingdom Tikiars helped to found of our Ozyly-Esehemo order, and the name of former Tikiar Grand Master Gravnkev adorns one of our capital class war cruisers. We now look forward to forging closer partnerships with the rest of the Imperial Union.
Together, we move forward to strike back against galactic disorder.
Make no mistake, our principles remain. The defence of our homeland comes first but it was the alien terrorists that occupied Csilla and their hatred of our way of life has not diminished. Their power may have waned but the tide of the war could return one day to harm our people, so we must be steadfast in our defence. The Imperial Union will be the wall which will break the resolve of the rebel scum.
Let the aliens of Lesser Space that seek to cause us harm now tremble. Their envy at our place in the centre of the universe will drive them mad. We stand beside those who respect our strength, our culture, and our right to exist unchallenged in our domain.
We pledge our cause to a simple one. Strangers in our homeland no longer, we are Masters of our own House.
Stronger. Unified. And unbroken.
