Expeditionary Success: Victory at Serroco

Glo’tharius Smith (CPIN Live! Anchor): Good evening. I’m Glo’tharius Smith, and this is CPIN Live!
Tonight, we bring you a report that Operation Concord Spear, the first major joint deployment between the Chiss Ascendancy and the Imperial Union, has officially concluded.
The first great campaign of the Chiss Ascendancy in our new galactic age, has resulted in victory. The Serroco blockade is over.
Earlier today, speaking before an assembled formation of officers and citizens on Csilla, Grand Syndic Cong delivered a speech that shaped this defining moment of our return to the galactic theatre when he announced the end to the operation which saw the Chiss Ascendancy for the first time in its history fight in combat operations abroad.
Let us take you back to the historic address from earlier today.
Grand Syndic (Taped from earlier broadcast):

Chiss!
Today, the blockade ends. But this is not the end of a war, it is the beginning of our return.
They called us silent. They said we were broken. They believed our exile would last forever. They were wrong.
The Expeditionary Defense Fleet stood firm at Serroco, not in defense but in judgment.
Our fleets were not deployed, they were unleashed. Our discipline was not tested, it was proven. Our cause was not questioned, it was fulfilled.
The enemy, desperate, brought their best and still they failed. They committed their elite battlegroups, burned through their vaunted technology, and what did they achieve? Nothing! We stood unbroken. We forced their hand. Their bravado is false and the facts were clear.
The Imperial Union made the New Republic remnant tuck tail and run, day after day.
Let this victory burn our return into the stars.
We continue to rebuild. We rise with fire. We rise with purpose. We rise to build a future worthy of our blood, our history, and our name. This is our time. And we will not stop.
Ch’ah k’elar ch’at ch’elahn’aci.
Ch’ah k’elar ch’at csah’vosak’in’bah.
For the Ascendancy. For victory eternal!

Glo’tharius Smith: And there you have it—clear words, full of purpose. To help us unpack the strategic results of the campaign, I’m joined now by Senior Defense Correspondent Varo’niccu’nalor, former CEDF naval liaison. Varo’niccu’nalor, thank you for joining us. Let’s get right to it—how did the operation end, and what’s the headline for our viewers tonight?

Varo’niccu’nalor: Thank you, Glo. The headline is clear: strategic success. The Imperial Union held the field across every major engagement of their choosing, and the Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet not only stood firm but proved itself as a dependable supporting force within a coordinated war theatre. They destroyed many A-wings and held key Hyperspace Entry Points, including a leading a counter attack against enemy bombers on the fourth day to regain control of a Hyperspace Entry Point to allow reinforcements to arrive. There is no doubt that Black Sun and Tresario Star Kingdom were the larger forces and bore the brunt of enemy attacks but The Pentastar Alignment and the Ascendancy fought mightily and bravely.
Glo’tharius Smith: Let’s talk specifics. We’ve heard the Rebels were forced to adjust their deployments. How significant was that?
Varo’niccu’nalor: Very. Rebel forces had to commit significant resources and deploy multiple elite battlegroups and elite material to attempt to break the line at Serroco. Their Lesser Space bravado aside, day after day the Imperial Union repelled their attacks. The level of force diversion the enemy had to commit left significant gaps elsewhere, which the Imperial Union and its allies capitalized on with surgical strikes. The blockade wasn’t just a wall, it was also a wedge.
Glo’tharius Smith: Were there any losses on the Chiss side?
Varo’niccu’nalor: There was one notable one. A Raider-class corvette called Shiroi was lost after it was overwhelmed by a swarm of rebels while covering the withdrawal of IU strike elements. Its last stand was brilliant, holding far longer than any reasonable projections. It was a loss but a noble one. Multiple squads of A-wings threw themselves at the corvette, and it managed to tear apart many of them before succumbing to the overwhelming odds.
Glo’tharius Smith: And now that the operation is over?
Varo’niccu’nalor: The blockade ended with the Imperial Union repositioning on its own terms. The rebels blinked first and had to over commit their forces as intended. The Chiss have proven they belong on the frontlines, EDF battle plans proven sound, and our forces were not just puttering about on the side lines. Politically, diplomatically, and militarily the operation was a success.
Glo’tharius Smith: Thank you Oniccun for your analysis today. Strong words and a stronger message. Operation Concord Spear has concluded and its consequences will echo across the stars. Up next, its MovieNite! and tonight we’re playing the Chiss classic ‘Go Dog Go’. For CPIN Live!, I’m Glo’tharius Smith. Good night.
