Tenasas K’arci: A Celebration of Freedom and Renewal

Workers prepare Unity Walk with banners of the Chiss Houses…
CSILLA— In a vibrant display of unity and remembrance, the Chiss people once again prepare to return home for the annual Tenasas K’arci, the revered “Freedom Festival” that marks a defining moment in Ascendancy history. Set to begin early next month, the week-long observance draws citizens from across the stars back to Csilla in a renewal of tradition, unity, and cultural pride.
Tenasas K’arci commemorates the fall of the autocrat Reius Rothschild, whose reign brought repression and division within Chiss society, and the founding of the Seventh Chiss Ascendancy—a reformation born not from conquest, but from conviction. It was this peaceful yet powerful rebirth that gave rise to the freedoms enjoyed by all Chiss in good standing today.
“Freedom is not the absence of order,” said Ordinant Voth’ar’inrodo of House Miurna, during an early address at Naporar Square. “It is the conscious embrace of shared destiny. Tenasas K’arci is our reminder that even the coldest winter may give rise to a season of renewal, if we stand together.”
The festival will begin with the Memory’s March, a solemn evening procession across Csaplar’s Unity Walk. Participants carry traditional glowbeacons to honor those who gave voice and life to the rebirth of Chiss sovereignty. The following days will include lectures on civic freedom at the Tacticae Hall, cultural exhibitions at the Csilla Archive, and the Vass’ahl Games, where youth cadets reenact pivotal moments in Chiss history through ceremonial strategy matches. Markets and events, sponsored by the Council of Families, will take place throughout the ceremonies.
The highlight, as always, will be the Procession of the Flame, in which a ceremonial flame representing the “ignition of renewal” is carried by representatives of each Major House to the steps of the Council Rotunda. There, the Grand Syndic will deliver the Declaration of Continuance, affirming the enduring will of the Chiss to govern themselves with justice and unity.

House leaders during last year’s Procession of the Flame…
Attendance is open to all citizens in good standing, and return transports are being coordinated by the Office of Civil Mobilization and House Chatkir’s logistical command. Civil leaders emphasize that this year’s Tenasas K’arci is not only an act of remembrance, but an opportunity to forge stronger bonds among Chiss from all sectors.
“This is not simply a holiday,” stated Director Taz’inol’ari of House Chatkir. “This is a statement. That we remember. That we endure. That we are free.”
For full schedules and travel clearance, citizens are advised to contact their local coordinators or access the official Holonet portal.
Csilla awaits.
