Impromptu celebrations rang out on the streets of Ac’siel outside of the starport as Chiss Expansionary Defense Fleet forces arrived back on Csilla soil after an extended campaign against Rebels in multiple points of contact throughout lesser space.

Earlier, we reported CEDF actions in the Khuiumin system to support allies against the aggression of the Shadow Dominion, followed by the operation in Arvala. Much like Arvala, the latest operation sought to take the fight to the reeling Rebels. This time, the Altor system was the target.

Senior Defense Correspondent Varo’niccu’nalor is back to give us the details on what proved to be the final destination of the long campaign. Oniccun, what was the reason for this last operation?

Varo’niccu’nalor:
Imperial Union intelligence gathered evidence that not all is as it seems in the Altor system. Total Outer Rim, a Rebel faction, had created a facade of peaceful scientists performing research on animal life. The system has been researching and developing technology and weaponry that would threaten the IU. Pressure had to be put on the system to deter additional progress.

Glo’tharius Smith:
Can you give us the details of that technology?

Varo’niccu’nalor:
No. I’m sorry, but we are not ready to make that information available to the public yet. The Ascendancy should just know that, because of the actions CEDF and our allies took, the Rebels will not be advancing any technology anytime soon.

Glo’tharius Smith:
And who are the allies who participated in this operation?

Varo’niccu’nalor:
Building on successful actions already taken in Arvala, CEDF continued to fly wing to wing with Havoc Squad. Their experience fighting Rebels in lesser space was invaluable. Make no mistake, the entirety of our allied fleet was modest when compared to the force they took on in Altor. The system abdicated it’s peaceful guise as it revealed a formidable stockade of defenses.

 

 

Glo’tharius Smith:
Every battle has a cost. What was the toll paid by the fleet? Did everyone come back home?

Varo’niccu’nalor:
Indeed, I am privileged to confirm there were no casualties. Furthermore, the losses were minimal in total. CEDF and Havoc Squad lost some fighters and a few capital ships saw repairable hull damage. Those ships will fight many more battles. We saw the Rebels try to propagandize these results as a victory for their cause. On the contrary, our allied forces spent much of the operation occupying the system unopposed.

Glo’tharius Smith:
Why did they allow that and not put up more of a fight?

Varo’niccu’nalor:
TOR learned something that we Chiss already know, the Rebels will use you up and abandon you. No one from their side came to their aid. Even as they risk themselves trying to advance the Rebel war chest, the moment they had to defend themselves, all of their supposed allies looked the other way. That is why we must oppose the Rebels. We Chiss fought and won our independence from this terrorist regime. Now we have assembled the capacity to uproot them and cull them for the good of the galaxy as a whole.
