“Not if the Syndicure declares your decisions improper”
The Syndicure is the executive body in charge with overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Ascendancy. Also known as the Chiss Cabinet, it consists of the Grand Syndic and Syndics (Ministers appointed by the Syndic to oversee various departments of the Ascendancy). The Grand Syndic and Syndics are individually and collectively responsible for ensuring the growth, prosperity and security of the Chiss Ascendancy. It is the Syndicure that develops and executes Chiss Ascendancy policy.
Each Syndic is responsible for an aspect of the Ascendancy that best fits their skill set, as determined by the Grand Syndic and in many cases can overlap into specific divisions to ensure the overall operation of the Ascendancy runs smoothly. As with the Grand Syndic, Syndics must be Chiss.
In some rare instances, special advisors may be appointed by the Grand Syndic who may not normally be involved with the Syndicure on an everyday level on temporary assignment or to office their experience in facilitating a particular issue. The Grand Syndic may also appoint one member of the Syndicure is to act as the second-in-command of the Ascendancy in the event of something happening to the Grand Syndic
Members of the Syndicure (including Advisors) must be Ascended Citizens (see Citizenship), but cannot be members of a Chiss House – ensuring impartiality when dealing with the Council of Families and the Chiss Community. The Syndicure may propose legislation to the Council of Families that can help to support the Aristocra in their oversight of the Chiss Community.
